Maria Esperanza Salinas 1929-2016 Lindsay, CA

Mother was born to Antonio and Angelita Cortez of Mexico. She had two brother's and three sister's. Mother did her studies and work in McAllen, Texas most of her life growing up. As a young girl she met my Father Adolfo Salinas and they married in 1946. Both were seventeen at the time. Young and poor they lived with my Father's parents for a while in Texas. After some time they decided to go out on their own to find work and start a family. They traveled many states in the USA to work in the fields of many kinds of produce to make ends meet. One job ending and moving on to the next job where ever it may have been. In their travels they would stop on the side of freeways/Highways to set up camp with fire to rest, sleep and eat. Mother would make handmade Tortillas on an open fire with little means of food to eat. However, they always managed to survive. Throughout their years of traveling, Mother gave birth to nine children in different states including Minnesota, Indiana, Ohio, North Dakota, Texas, Wisconsin and California. In 1963 California became the state they settled down in to raise their nine children. My father purchase a very small house in the city of Lindsay. In 1965 they gave  to their last child making it ten total in all their children. Mother help Father work in the many jobs they encountered throughout their journey, however, now it was time to become a "stay at home mother" to raise all her children. Letting Father do all the earned income for the family. By the early seventies the older kids were either married or in High school graduating and becoming young adults. Mother always stayed healthy and strong throughout the years. By the early eighties Mother and Father purchased their third home in the same  city of Lindsay and were all alone. By this time with no more kids to care for. Therefore, they traveled on vacations and enjoyed each other's company when at home. In the late eighties Father suffered a Stroke and confined him to home care and then later on to a Nursing home. Mother  being on his side throughout his illness and their 53 years of marriage until Father died in 1999. Still strong and healthy, Mother carried on with her life with her children and grandchildren along side of her. In 2012 Mother went in for Heart surgery getting a Stent valve inserted to prolong her life at least ten more years because without it doctor's didn't guarantee life for her no more than one year. Surgery went well for Mother at the age of 83. In 2014 Mother lost her first child through death then lost another child in 2015. Mother became depressed and lonely losing her children and becoming very weak and brittle. At the age of 86 mother insisted to be admitted to a Nursing home because she no longer wanted to live alone. Therefore, in December 2015 she was admitted. Shortly thereafter her health became more fragile and life threatening. Mother couldn't eat or drink nothing anymore. Therefore, she made her own decision to have  Hospice as her care provider as her last alternative to making her life ending progress as comfortable for her as possible. On January 27, 2016 at 11:20 AM all her children sat around her bed and watched Mother pass. Mother lived a great life as she several times told us and she was happy to have done all that she did throughout her life here on earth. However, she was tired she added and she was ready to enter Eternity with the Lord. Mother was indeed a wonderful wife and Mother to all her children never putting herself first to anyone. She always cared and love her husband and each one of her children and grandchildren until her very last breath.

C. Borurguet My deepest condolence February 11, 2017
My condolences, as feelings of pain and bitterness become unbearable. It is my desire to convey a comforting thought based on the Holy Scriptures

  John 5:28 "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out."

This passage speaks of the resurrection of our loved ones. It is not God's plan to see us suffer and die, so He extends the following invitation to us: "Come near to God and He will draw near to you" (James 4:8)

Hendrick Polanco My deepest condelences February 6, 2016
My deepest condolences.  May these few words from the Holy Scriptures bring you comfort in your time of grief...
John 11:32-45
32 And so Mary, when she arrived where Jesus was and caught sight of him, fell at his feet, saying to him: “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” 33 Jesus, therefore, when he saw her weeping and the Jews that came with her weeping, groaned in the spirit and became troubled; 34 and he said: “Where have YOU laid him?” They said to him: “Lord, come and see.” 35 Jesus gave way to tears. 36 Therefore the Jews began to say: “See, what affection he used to have for him!” 37 But some of them said: “Was not this [man] that opened the eyes of the blind man able to prevent this one from dying?”
38 Hence Jesus, after groaning again within himself, came to the memorial tomb. It was, in fact, a cave, and a stone was lying against it.39 Jesus said: “TAKE the stone away.” Martha, the sister of the deceased, said to him: “Lord, by now he must smell, for it is four days.”40 Jesus said to her: “Did I not tell you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” 41 Therefore they took the stone away. Now Jesus raised his eyes heavenward and said: “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42 True, I knew that you always hear me; but on account of the crowd standing around I spoke, in order that they might believe that you sent me forth.” 43 And when he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice: “Laz´a·rus, come on out!” 44The [man] that had been dead came out with his feet and hands bound with wrappings, and his countenance was bound about with a cloth. Jesus said to them: “Loose him and let him go.”
45 Therefore many of the Jews that had come to Mary and that beheld what he did put faith in him;
